Where summer rooms come from
Students leave Dublin from late May, and many college residences rent rooms for the summer. Ask the residence offices of the colleges directly.
House-share rooms come free when students go home, and some people let their room while they're away for the summer.

When to look
Start in March or April. Residences fill early, and the best house-share rooms go weeks ahead. Set up alerts so you hear about new rooms straight away.
Stay safe
Short stays attract scams: a nice room at a low price, and a request for a deposit before you arrive. Never pay for a room that you or someone you trust hasn't seen, in person or on a live video call with the person who has the keys.
Agree your exact dates, the rent, the deposit and when it's returned, in writing.
