StayLister Room Report: what renters search for in Ireland
The first report comes out on 1 November 2026. A new report comes out on the 1st of every month, with the figures for the month before.
Method and limits
- StayLister is a small, growing site; figures describe searches and ads on StayLister only, not the whole Irish rental market.
- Searches are those typed in plain words in the StayLister search box. We count the place, the kind of stay and a budget band, never the words typed or who searched.
- Saved searches and WhatsApp room alerts are those started in the month; room-wanted ads are those that first went live in the month.
- Room ads are real ads posted through the site and live at some point in the month (demo ads are left out). Asking rent is per month (weekly rents × 52 ÷ 12).
- A median rent is only shown for a city and kind of room with at least 5 ads. Where there are fewer, we leave it out rather than guess.
- Demand per ad is searches, saved searches, alerts and room-wanted ads in a city, divided by the room ads live there in the month. It shows pressure, not people: one person can search many times.
- Enquiries are conversations started about a room ad. "Let" is the share of live room ads the advertiser marked as let in the month.
- Scam signals stopped counts ads that our checks or our team sent back, refused, took down or hid after reports in the month, because of scam warning signs (risky wording, rent far below the area, reused or copied photos, reports).
- Small numbers can move a lot from one month to the next. Every figure is shown with how many it is based on.
